Opinion It's pretty pathetic that the president of the United States earns only $400,000 a year. We should pay the president like a CEO with a base salary closer to $10,000,000 or $20,000,000; with incentives for things like lowering the deficit, low executive order count, lowering inflation, lowering unemployment, cross-party collaboration, etc. The first lady should earn a healthy wage too, depending on her involvement.
