It's pretty pathetic that the president of the United States earns only $400,000 a year. We should pay the president like a CEO with a base salary closer to $10,000,000 or $20,000,000; with incentives for things like lowering the deficit, low executive order count, lowering inflation, lowering unemployment, cross-party collaboration, etc.
The first lady should earn a healthy wage too, depending on her involvement. |

No lawmaker, politician, or elected official should decide on the benefits they're paid; including perks like vacation, retirement and health. |

All elected officials should be overseen by representatives from the body of people they represent; especially politicians.
There should be an agreement before elected as to what expectations are required and what the salary will be if the expectations are or are not met.
There should be perks for exceptional performance; and there should be disconnected service for bad performance. |
