The U.S. has a presidency rather than a monarchy, that makes it a republic.
The government is elected by the people that makes it a democracy.
Republic - a state in which the supreme power rests in the body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by representatives chosen directly or indirectly by them.
Democracy - government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.
The government works for us, not the other way around.
When those in power slowly make the people fear them, we end up where we are today. And that is now how this country was formed, or intended. When Thomas Payne wrote "Common Sense", it was agreed by all that the government was to do the will of the people.
Today we have so little trust in our goverment and the elected representatives that were once voted into office, that we're willing to elect just about anyone that hasn't abused their elected office and/or is not one of the establishment.
Here we offer anonymous submission of opinions on what needs to change.
